Rathmines Leisure Centre Opening Date Confirmed

Rathmines PoolLucinda welcomes the news that Rathmines swimming pool and leisure centre will finally open on 27th September. Swan Leisure, as it will be known, will be open to the general public and will offer a 25 metre swimming pool, gym, fitness studios and a sports hall.  The Centre  is operated by Dublin City Sports and Leisure Services Ltd. on behalf of Dublin City Council for the community of Rathmines and the surrounding area. The pay as you go swimming rate for an adult will be €6. Please click below for more pricing information.

  • Monday to Friday – 7am to 10pm
  • Saturday & Sunday – 10am to 6pm

New School for Portobello?

A group of parents are campaigning for the provision of an Educate Together School in the Portobello area, based on the strong demand for multi-denominational school places in area.

While Ranelagh and Griffith Barracks Multi-denominational schools both provide outstanding service, they do not have the capacity to cope with the demand for places throughout Dublin South East and Dublin Central. (more…)

Tackling Unemployment Locally

Lucinda organised a series of public information meetings to provide information on opportunities and resources available in the constituency to those affected by unemployment. She brought together speakers from a wide range of organisations that could be of assistance to those dealing with unemployment.

Canal Cycle Lane

Dublin City Council has applied for planning permission to build a new system of cycle lanes along the Grand Canal from Rathmines and Portobello to Grand Canal Quay, over to the Samuel Beckett Bridge, and on to follow the Royal Canal on the North Side of the Liffey.

This is a big step forward for cycling in Dublin. (more…)

I am regularly contacted by constituents affected by unemployment who need information on education and training opportunities, social welfare entitlements, and other information related to coping with the recession. To address these matters I have arranged a public information seminar on unemployment issues. I held one recently in the Dublin 4 area that was very well attended, so I am now organising a second one.
