Incinerator Update

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Fine Gael remains committed to stopping the proposed incinerator in Poolbeg. Luicnda recently sought assurances from Fine Gael party leader Enda Kenny that the party would oppose the construction of the proposed incinerator if elected to government. Deputy Kenny unequivocally confirmed that Fine Gael would continue to fight tooth and nail to oppose the incinerator.

Lucinda again calls on Minister John Gormley to stand by his promises to the people of Dublin South East and scrap the incinerator for once and for all.

Jobs Seminar_POSTER

I am regularly contacted by constituents affected by unemployment who need information on education and training opportunities, social welfare entitlements, and other information related to coping with the recession. To address these matters I have arranged a public information seminar on unemployment issues. I held one recently in the Dublin 4 area that was very well attended, so I am now organising a second one.

Water Situation – Lifting of restrictions

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Latest Report from Dublin City Council – Friday 26th February

The water supply situation has been stabilised to the point where we are now in a position to lift all restrictions on supply with effect from this evening (Feb 26th).

The lifting of restrictions will result in a rise in demand. The level of increase will dictate whether it will be necessary to re-introduce restrictions in the coming days.

Essential maintenance work at the water treatment plants has commenced and will be ongoing for the next number of months. This should not impact on our ability to supply unless the level of demand rises further for whatever reason or problems arise at the plants. (more…)

Lucinda’s Dail Diary

I find it difficult to dance on the grave of a disgraced politician, no matter how reprehensible I find them. It is difficult for their family, supporters and friends who have worked tirelessly to help them achieve high office . However, nothing could exonerate or excuse the behaviour of Willie O’Dea in recent months. Only Willie could brashly defend his position by hurling scurrilous remarks across the Dail Chamber, as though he were the person wronged. And only Willie could consider the widespread propagation of slanderous statements about a political rival as amounting to nothing more than a small “mistake”. (more…)
